WHAT IS A SOLAR PV BATTERY SYSTEM? AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

SO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE SUN GOES IN?

THE COMPLETE SOLAR PV SYSTEM

As you can see in the graph most of our consumption on average is around breakfast and evening when solar is the strongest around noon.

So how do we make the most of that?

With a battery system!

Battery systems widen the usage curve and makes our ‘free energy’ period wider than the noon peak by charging batteries which can store more power than our evening and morning demand. (subject to size)

YOU MUST BE SOUTH FACING – MYTH!

You do not need to be south facing, it helps but it is not a game changer. EAST/WEST split systems are around 20% less in terms of generation but tend to give better usage curves as you gain morning and evening generation over South facing. As the power comes in less peaks, it is more usable in the home at peak times like morning and evening. For south facing solar mid day peaks, storage works brilliantly to soak it all in and feed it back when you need the most.

HOW ARE THEY INSTALLED?

By using hooks and clamp system made from light weight aluminium.

Rails are then installed in lengths and the panels attached and bolted down.

The electrician then installs the inverter and batteries in the loft or garage.

Super neat and tidy installations every time.
